Reaping the Seed

July 24th, 2008 by jashodhara

Once a sadhu (sage) was telling children about different life styles. After that he asked questions.”What do you want to become in your life? I mean to say, what is your aim in life? Small children always want whatever they see in their daily life. One child raised his hand and said, ” I want to become a sage”.  Why? asked the sage. The child said, “I can get more food and I will talk to people”. Another child said “I want to become a bus conductor as he is having lot of money in his bag”. Everyone present there laughed aloud. The third child said, “I want to see myself on T.V. If I am there everyone will recognize me” Hearing this, the sage said, “it is easy to say, but difficult to apply. A sage’s life is very difficult, a rigorous life. A conductor has to give the full account at the end of the day. Each coin has to be accounted for. Watching T.V is recreational, but the  people who are there on T.V are working day and night to become successful”.

Suddenly a young sage raised  his hand and requested the elder sage to grant him permission to talk. Then he said, “if you want to become this and that you tell your mind everyday the same thing. You keep on feeding your mind the same thing and you will see that whatever you thought, has come true one day. This happens due to setting a goal which goes to your subconscious mind. We should programme our mind correctly without hesitation and having firm faith. You will become very happy”. All the children liked it and wondered about the power of the Mind.

Reap the seed as early as possible and get the juciest fruit of your choice.

Birthday celebration

June 27th, 2008 by jashodhara

Birthday means the auspicious day when we saw the first light of this earth. We are so lucky to be here on earth. Parents plan so many things for the new arrival.

Every year this is celebrated to remember our past among the people on this Earth. Why shouldn’t we involve all other thing which we realised since the moment we arrived in this world. This could be best done as a Picnic and plant a Tree, dig a well … Help the Nature. This is better than just a Card, Cake or Candle. We are now lively with the pure Air which should be thanked.

Parents must be thanked, who helped us to realise this event. They help us to see the New world every day, every Year and build Hope in us making us aware of the Positiveness all around. To make us happy they must have gone through so many troubles. We want just more & more.

It is very difficult to repay all the neccesscities we got in this Earth from Nature and Parents. We are always in debt and still try to use up the Goodness around us.

Spiritually we have left the Heaven and so cry on Birth, but people around here are happy to see a new life on Earth. Our soul in encased in this Body and we loose the emotions of Peaceful silence, Eternal bliss and Endless freedom.

We try to make the Best moments Here so that these emotions are made perrinial in this ever changing World. In this rush for happiness we forget the return the Earth expect from us.

Success

June 27th, 2008 by jashodhara

Once a twenty five years old lady  Nisha took part in a elocution competition. She was a good orator, speaker and spoke very well in the competition. Everyone present in the hall appreciated her speech. One by one all the competitors spoke and competition got over. One of the competitors Sonali, spoke out of context and she was not enough confident about her topic to face the judges.

As soon as the competition got over judges started their  work, counted the marks and were ready to  announce the result.

Then the judges went to the stage and announced the name of the winners. When Nisha found her name in second positionwith Sonali winnig, she refused to take her prize. She started arguing with the judges as Sonali, spoke out of the topic. The judges remained silent and did not utter a word.

The organiser of the competition started arguing with Nisha. She started weeping and said that she did not want any prize for that. Sonali took her prize and went away.

When Nisha came home weeping, her mother asked her about the incident. Her mother consoled her and said,”You have done your job well. If you deserve, you will win everything in your life. God gives the thing at the right time. So don’t repent. No one can take your belongings. Whatever is yours that comes automatically to you”.

Later on after six months, when there was a inter collegeite competition, Nisha got first prize and Sonali did not get anything, Nisha realised that her mother was right.

So success comes if you really deserve it.

Expectation

December 22nd, 2007 by jashodhara

Once a eleven years old boy asked his mother, “if i work hard, will I succeed”? The mother said, “definitely! hard work always pays”.

The boy started working hard in his studies and expected something good from it. This way the school examination began. He wrote the paper well and was very happy. After completing all the papers, he asked his mother, “Am I going to do well in my exam?”

His mother replied, “If you have really work hard, it will pay”. He was very happy.

Within a week, his papers were shown. In the class he did not utter a word. He came from school and started sobbing. His mother asked him,”what happened to my child”? He could not answer anything.

After sometime he stopped crying and said,”you always lie, you are not telling the truth, hard work never pays”.

Mother immediately understood what the child wanted to convey. She said,”child you did not understand what I said to you, you should work without expecting the result. When you expect anything in the beginning and then work hard , you always become unhappy.

Expectation brings unhappiness. So always remember, work is worship. Whichever work you are suppose to do, you do it whole heartedly. You need not worry for the result, it will come automatically. The child hugs his mother and said, “My mother is the best in the world”.

LIFE

December 22nd, 2007 by jashodhara

Life is really precious. When we have a body, we can do, think and act. When I teach in the class and begin with a question ‘what is psychology’? Pupil answers, it is the study of the mind. Then I always give one example—–There was a saint who had many disciples. During ‘Guru Pournima’ day all the disciples brought gifts for their Guru (teacher). Some gifts were very precious, some were ordinary like sweets and fruits. Guru accepted all the gifts happily, but one of the disciples was sitting at the back and watching all disciples in a doleful eyes. When everyone left, Guru called the disciple and asked him to go to the jungle and collect a bundle of sticks. The disciple got little frightened.

Now I ask the question to the students, why did Guru ask him to bring sticks ?

Most of the students answered, Guru may beat the disciple. Some students answer,— may be Guru needs to cook his food.

Then I explain, psychology is the study of soul, but it is difficult for an ordinary man to believe and accept the soul. Modern psychologists do not consider psychology to be a science of soul because the soul is beyond the reach of the senses and only the saint who has a third eye and worked with soul may see the soul. Soul is the instrument of the mind. It receives the information about the environment. They do not believe even ’science of mind’ because mind refers to a continuous substance, but a yogi can think of it.

Therefore, after rejecting these definition, the psychologists said that it is the study of consciousness. It is rejected because the state of consciousness constantly changes and has no permanent basis. But the yogi who studied it for many years can see the consciousness of a person.

The Guru who was a yogi understood the soul, mind and consciousness of the disciple, and asked him to bring the sticks.

When he brought the sticks , the Guru asked him to burn all the sticks which symbolises Something…. The Guru said, “if you want to stay with me and learn the yoga by which you can win the material attachment and know the real psychology, then you have to overcome your Ego“. The purpose of our life is to be free from birth and death, freedom from desire, freedom from cause and effect, freedom from from failure and success. Every human being craves for sweet liberty. Learning these yogic activities make the man understand his soul, mind, consciousness and behaviour. The man understands the right karma which gives him the happiness what man is craving from generation after generation.

Durga - The Inner Power

October 17th, 2007 by jashodhara

Durga puja is celebrated by every Hindu in different ways. In Gujarat, nine days are celebrated as Navratri  where “Nav’ means Nine & “Ratri” means Night. Why is it so     called? Puja is celebrated at night only. The reason is - darkness of night symbolizes ignorance. This ignorance  creates  fear, helplessness , so we can be trapped into Kam (Lust), Krodh (Anger), Madh (Intoxication), Lobh(Greed), Moho (Attachment), Matsar (Envy). Every person has some or the other bad quality. So in Navratri  we ask goddess to remove our ill qualities so that we can become a good human being.

In Bengal, it is celebrated as Durga puja for four days. Here women are given more importance & without the soil of prostitutes’ ground, the puja cannot be performed. This symbolizes that evil in society is saved by these women.

In every part of India, Durga puja is celebrated & ask “MAA” to take the devil qualities from us & show us the right path to serve the mankind.

Faith in God

September 6th, 2007 by jashodhara

Once there was a woman named Parvati. She was very much dependent on God. She had full faith in God. Every moment, every part of her life, she used to surrender to God. Parvati used to tell her mother and other people, “Don’t worry! God will help you”. Every one used to make fun of her. One of her friend Sheetal used to tell her, “Parvati don’t do anything, don’t cook, God will do everything for you.” Parvati used to smile. Sometimes she used to tell her friend, ”God is everywhere, that means, He is with you also isn’t it? Sheetal used to laugh at her. Sheetal had full confident in her work and never used to belief in God or anyone. She used to tell everyone, “You are the maker of your own self”. Everybody used to understand that and tried to follow Sheetal. Sheetal wanted to study medicine. She even did very well in her exam. She applied for medicine, but due to reservation of govt quota her name did not appear in the list. Sheetal was waiting for the list. One day she was disappointed to see in the newspaper, “Classes of medicine will start from 2nd October”. She was shocked and took admission in B.Sc. One day Sheetal came to Parvati and said, “You really won and I lost”. Parvati did not understand what Sheetal meant, but before she could ask something Sheetal left Parvati’s house.

After a year, Parvati got married to Shiva an engineer, working with a reputed firm. Everyone in her in-laws was very happy to see a pious, homely natured Parvati. Within a few days Parvati won the heart of all the family members. Mother in-law, Monika used to tell her neighbours about her daughter in-law’s nature and faith in God. After her marriage she started satsang once in a month at her place. She started singing devotional songs and good teaching in the satsang. Neighbours used to gather at her place during satsang.

This way two years passed. First son was born. After three years second son was born. Suddenly in the month of October after his birthday, her husband Shiva got sick. Sudden fever for seven days. He went to the doctor and the doctor asked him to get the blood checked. Jaundice was detected. His mother said, “jaundice! Oh it will go away within seven days.” Seven days passed, month passed… He was admitted in the hospital. Bilirubin in blood was increasing day by day. All doctors were worried about his illness. They could not find any reason of increasing billurubin. What type of jaundice? Blockage or virus???

Before marriage Parvati used to go to temple every Monday, so she continued it after her marriage also. Shiva’s condition was getting worse day by day. He became yellow, dark and thin. This time he was under the treatment of renowned doctor. Looking at his condition, his brother Om was called from abroad. Om and Parvati both went to doctor . The doctor told Om, “We cannot tell everything to his wife, but if you take him to America also the result will be zero”. Still Parvati was not nervous as she knew that God was taking a test. With no hope, Shiva was discharged from the hospital. After coming home Shiva started sleeping with his mother as Parvati‘s younger son was very small. One day Shiva’s aunt came from native place. Parvati was sleeping in her room alone with her small child. It was nearly morning. She was asleep. Suddenly, she found male hand on her head. She touched the hand and that it was quite a heavy hairy hand. The hand was giving her blessings. She got very frightened and woke up with fear. She started looking under the bed but no one was there. She believed that God had come in disguise and blessed her and her husband. She immediately went to the other room and found that her husband was sleeping. She placed her hand near his nose to see his breathing but was sure about his good health. She went to her room and waited for the dawn. At 6 o’clock she woke her aunt-in-law up and told her happily “God has come in disguise and blessed me, nothing will happen to him. He will be alright soon.” Both of them started weeping.

Next morning, the doctor called Parvati and gave the address of a new gastroenterologist and that afternoon Shiva and Parvati went to see the doctor. The new doctor started Shiva’s treatment and within no time his bilirubin came down to a safe limit. Parvati thought that the address of the new doctor was given to her by God himself so that Shiva becomes alright. After the treatment under the doctor Shiva was cured from the fatal illness.

Parvati still continues to believe that on that day it was Shiv who had blessed her and her husband. Even today she is a Bhakta of Lord Shiva and celebrates Shiv-Ratri with utmost dedication.

God can do anything. We are ignorant—that is why we do not understand what is going on. Parvati still says, “God is everywhere, we should feel Him. We cannot see air, but every moment we feel it, without air we cannot survive, so is God . Without Him, no leaf stir, no wave move, no sun, no moon can survive . He is omnipresent, omniscient and omnipotent.

Sensual Crave

August 30th, 2007 by jashodhara

The Math (Temple) is full of devotees with Swami Ramkrishna is sitting in a corner and all people are asking his blessings. people are waiting in a queue for his blessing.

Smiling face, eyes are glowing, tall, well-built, swami is very young. May be his age is around 31 yrs. Very soft spoken, affectionate, everyone wants to be in his care. Very caring, animal lover, tree lover, talks everyday with trees and flowers while watering them. He has a dog named Moti who wags his tail whenever he sees the swami from a distance. In the ashram, there is a shed. Cows, goats, buffaloes are very happy with him. They feel lucky to have a master like swamiji.

Swamiji’s life started in a Shetty family in South India. His name was Rajkumar. His parents affectionately called him Raj. Brilliant in his childhood, he used to play the mridangam and flute very fluently. In school, he was a quite child, not interested in sports. He had a very good handwriting in school. He used to write poems from his childhood. Once he recited his own poem in school about peace for which he got the first prize. He has once elder sister named Pratibha who is seven years elder to him. He used to love and respect his sister very much and used to look upto her in life.

When he was twelve years old, he used to think of things which a young lad thinks. They think about the woman’s body and always have something destructive on their minds. This boy was also not an exception. he used to think and see T.V and was curious about the female body. One night he became wet due to this thinking, but couldn’t tell it to anyone. But it was supressed in his mind, and due to this condition, it made him unstable at home and outside. he was restless and spent half of the time in bathroom or toilet. Nobody noticed this behavior of his at home.

One day his sister’s friend Rani came to their place. She always used to come to her friend’s house. But this time when she came, she saw Raj in a different mood. She sat in the drawing room with a magazine because Pratibha was not at home that time. Raj told her, “You sit, didi will come soon”. He sat near her and tried to put his hand on her thigh. She did not tell anything, but only observed. As soon as Raj saw that she was not telling anything, he tried to go deeper. Immediately Rani caught his hand and with a sensible and affectionate voice she said, “Raj - Kaam, Krodh, Madh, Lobh, Moh, Matsar are bad qualities in every person. We have to overcome these by thinking about their reasons. You should not control them all of a sudden, but slowly understand them.” She gave a nice example, “If a bucket full of dirty water is put under an open tap of fresh water, after sometime you will notice that the water in the bucket has become clean with the flow of running water. So do not try to control these in one moment. Try and analyze these for yourself.” On that day after this incident took place, Raj became restless and was only thinking about Rani’s words. He started reading a book on Shiva and how Japa would overcome the lust in one person. He also started reading many other spiritual books. Then, when he became seventeen and was studying in his twelve standard he left for Mount Abu to find answer to questions that he had in his mind.

He took the permission of his parents and went to Mount Abu. His parents never thought that he would become a swami. After reaching Mount Abu , he informed his parents through AkalSwami that he had taken “Sanyas” and will never come back to family life again.

His parents became happy and proud oh his decision, but felt sorry for missing him. They were consoled by the neighbours that such parents are rare that give birth to a child who becomes a saint and serves the society. Raj became Swami Ramkrishna and is world famous today. Rani became his first devotee when he returned from Mount Abu after prolonged sadhana of 12 years. She fell at his feet with tears in her eyes. Looking at her, swamiji only put his affectionate hands on her head and blessed her.

Supreme

August 22nd, 2007 by jashodhara

GOD is the supreme being who is governing, directing, regulating and controlling the universe. Without his presence or permission no leaf can shake, no wind can blow, no tide of the sea or wave of the ocean.

The situation becomes paralyzed without the power of the supreme. Everyone in this world has come as an actor with the guidance of the Director (Supreme). No one can add an extra dialogue in it. Whatever is give, that has to be played by the actor. Only thing that the actor can do is beautify the role by giving some expression on iy, so that no one from the audience gets a chance to throw tomatoes or stones on the screen. So play the role without any err or sin
